What is the Wall of Language?


In the run-up to the May 2010 elections, The Wall of Language website published letters from dozens of prospective MPs on the importance of languages and language learning.  The second wave of our campaign aims to get all MPs to make clear their views on the action needed to reverse the decline in language learning in the UK.

 

Speak up for Languages
With a new government at Westminster it’s a critical time to Speak up for Languages by writing to your MP. We will then publish your letters and the responses on this website – for all to see.


Step one Find your MP - click here


Step two Check whether your MP has already responded to a letter in the run-up to the elections in May 2010.


Step three Adapt and send either our first contact letter or our follow-up letter if your MP has already responded to the Wall for Language - or use our bank of sample letters

Submit the letter to your MP to info@walloflanguage.org.uk for publication - this allows all to see which MPs are less keen to reply!


Step five
When you receive a response from your MP, please send it to info@walloflanguage.org.uk for publication on this website.


Please note that we can publish only electronic letters and that we need permission from each MP to publish their response on this website.
