About us
The Wall of Languages arose from discussions between linguists trying to find a way of raising the prominence of languages and language learning.
A Computer Science student, Nick Friend and I have created the website - with support from the Centre for Information on Language Teaching (CILT), the Association for Language Learning (ALL) and two commercial sponsors (Televic and Linguascope). We hope that it will become a focal point for linguists and an opportunity to see what prospective MPs feel about the importance of languages.
I have taught French and Spanish since the early 80s and am currently Head of MFL. Whilst my background is mainly in independent schools, I have been a committee member of ALL-London (which represents language teachers of all sectors) and Vice-Chair for the last couple of years. In September I will be spending two days a week teaching at an Academy.
